First and Fairest
Skylight Dance Theatre, November 2007
Skylight Dance Theatre, a new dance company in New York, asked me to do the costumes for their first production, Daughters, which encased two pieces, the second of which was a song cycle of Elizabeth Barrett Browning poems entitled First and Fairest. In addition to the dancers, the piece also included a sixteen voice women's ensemble and a female soloist. The music and choreography was original, and it was performed at Theatre 315 for one sold-out weekend. An encore performance is being discussed.
